"Although "The Lion King" and its music can be given 6 out of 5 stars, this so called "Special Edition" lacks the luster that the "Beauty and the Beast" special edition soundtrack had. Early demos and alternate tracks were added to the "Beast" soundtrack, while the only thing "special" about this CD are "The Morning Report" (the new song that appears in the Special Edition of the film, which isn't all that great) and a very well done remix of Elton John's "Can You Feel The Love Tonight". If you are trying to choose between the original and special edition soundtracks, choose this one. After all, it does give you 2 extra songs."

"My 3 1/2 year old loves this movie. It is the most fun for her. It's a little on the easy side because it teaches mostly colors and counting, and my daughter already knows that. But it was a great game for her to get acquainted with the joystick. It is even fun for her cousins up to age 8. She really loves this dvd."

Disney's The Lion King is finally available on DVD. Considered the cream of the crop of all the Disney animated features by many, it is definitely worth owning. I don't think I'll go into the story, which I'm sure most of you know. Chances are you've already seen the movie and are just waiting to own it on a piece of media that won't rot like your VHS tape that probably fell apart by now. Even if Disney released a sub par release of this movie, you'd buy it.

"There are some classic Disney movie songs on this DVD that are a lot of fun, but also some less known songs from "sequels" of Disney movies that are not as timeless, enduring or entertaining. It is not as engaging for my 17 month old daughter as the Pooh Sing Along, but perhaps as she gets older and sees the classic Disney movies, she'll relate more to the characters."

"Yes, there are some Lion King songs in this but mostly songs from other Disney movies. We ordered it after ordering Pooh Songs and they are all Pooh songs. That being said, my granddaughter loves it and I would recommend buying any of the Sing Along Songs DVDs."
