"This is one of the best shows that HBO produced...definitely not for the faint of heart or kids....you are glued to your seat the entire time and it just flys by....the humor, pathos, cursing, and the characters are unbelieveable. You see how these pioneers really lived, loved & died....you become bonded with the characters as you watch and having it on DVD means you can watch over and over to get the finer points you might have missed the first time around. I am sorry that Season 2 is not individually available only. The disc with Milch on it is kind of over-powering - he loves himself and lets the audience know it - but he really did a mind blowing job on this show. I can sit for 3 horus without moving watching one disc. Anyone who wants to learn about the gold miners, towns and the other odd characters of this time period need to watch this - and listen carefully to the dialog - even with the 4 letter words - it is truly worth it."

"Applause to the casting director. Wonderful insight into what would make an outstanding show. Robin Weigert was such a wonderful actor in the series I had to take a second look when I saw what she looked like off the set. I, too, watched Sunday nights diligently and currently watch my box set and reruns on HBO. I searched online for months when the series ended to see when HBO would finish the series to no avail. It's a shame because rarely do I commit to a series on television. David Milch is a genius and I would love to meet him in person, I'll bet he's fascinating. Please, for the love of viewers and the art of cinematography, give us more deadwood or else the bunny gets it!!!"

"Deadwood is in fact a real town in the Black Hills . But what i liked the most about this HBO show was the fact that it was gritty The town was dirty and muddy , it looks like a work in progress . Not like the sets on shows like Gun Smoke and Bonanza Thay were way too clean to have been an old west town . On those shows all the fokes had on clean pressd shirts and they took a bath every day . Not in Deadwood The fokes are much like the town gritty and dirty and the men are just plain ruthless. It would have been nice to have had two or three more seasons of the show but if you have not seen Deadwood make it a point to sit down and enjoy a good old wild west show the way it was meant to have been portrayed"
